Who we are

Holly Bolt T/A Nurturingnd provides diagnostic assessments, tutoring and educational support services to individuals with specific learning disabilities and their networks.

Holly Bolt is registered with the ICO (Information Commissioners Office). Any personal information that you give to us will be processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

We take your privacy seriously. In this Privacy Policy we’ve provided lots of information on when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it, the sharing of information and how we keep it secure.

Data Protection Law

The GDPR regulates the processing of personal data and protects the rights and privacy of all living individuals (including children), for example by giving all individuals who are the subject of personal data a general right of access to the personal data which relates to them.

Data Protection law outlines that assessors can use personal information only if they have a proper reason to do so. The law says we must have one or more of these reasons:

• To fulfil a contract we have with you, or

• When it is our legal duty, or

• When it is in our legitimate interest, or

• When you consent to it.

Types of data we collect

  • Personal identifiers and biographical information, for example date of birth
  • Contact details – for example home address, email address and telephone number
  • Sensitive personal data – for example, details of why you have sought an assessment, details of a disability or specific learning difficulty, details of support you may have had in the past, assessment data, and notes written during and after assessment sessions or after other contact with you
  • Information related to your education such as where you studied, what you studied, qualifications taken, grades achieved, and any additional support received
  • Employment details
  • Dates of meetings held with you
  • Family details – for example details of other family members with whom you have given me consent to liaise
  • Details of others in your network who you have chosen to include information from

Data held about you

  • The results of assessments undertaken
  • The results of questionnaires completed by parents, carers, legal guardians, education, and other professionals, if you chose to ask them for this information or disclose previous assessments/ reports

The reasons why this data is collected

Data is collected from yourself for the purpose of gathering background information to inform the assessment planning process and to lead to a diagnostic decision. Information gathered will be used to compile the background information section of the diagnostic assessment report and will inform the diagnostic decision and recommendations made within the report.

Sharing of data

Data will not be shared with anyone other than the individual being assessed. Where written consent is given by the individual being assessed, the contents of reports may be discussed with a parent, carer, or legal guardian.

Storage of data

Any information will be kept strictly confidential. Access to data in electronic form will be password protected.

Hard copies of assessment results and any other personal information will be kept in locked storage.

Casework data that informs the diagnostic report writing process will be stored securely and retained for 6 years after the subject has reached legal age [18]. Electronic copies will also be held for this time period. This time periods facilitates responses to queries relating to the assessment and diagnostic decision. After this time, information will be disposed of securely.

Access to your personal information

You are entitled to view, amend, or delete the personal information that we hold. Email your request to holly@nurturingnd.co.uk

Note: Requests to delete data relating to an individual will be considered on a case-by-case basis but we may be unable to remove all assessment records for legal reasons.
